Mr. Glaessner is a founding partner of the firm. He has over 25 years of experience as a civil trial attorney. He specializes in litigating all types of labor and employment matters, professional liability and commercial litigation, both for national and regional businesses and government entities. In addition to trying lawsuits in California federal and state court, he has represented employers in investigations and administrative trials before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Department of Fair Employment & Housing. He has also successfully argued writs and appeals before federal and state appellate courts.

During the course of his legal career, Mr. Glaessner has been recognized for his service in various leadership positions, including President of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada (2006), and is currently serves as Treasurer of the California Defense Counsel. He was appointed recently to serve on the Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee of the Judicial Council.

Because of his reputation for objectivity and fairness, Mr. Glaessner has also been selected by litigants to mediate or arbitrate their personnel and employment disputes.  He has also served as an expert witness concerning the standard of care for defense counsel in the handling of employment matters.

  • Doe v. Randleston [Three weeks jury trial resulting in unanimous defense verdict representing alleged sexual molester at pre-school-San Francisco Superior Court-2008]

  • Condon v. Diocese of Oakland [Represented Catholic church in successful jury trial of personal injury lawsuit with significant medical injuries, damages to elderly woman-Alameda County Superior Court-2007]

  • Gordon v. Santa Catalina School [Pre-trial dismissal of race discrimination and wrongful termination claims on summary judgment in lawsuit arising from termination of coach at private school-Monterey Superior Court-1999]

  • Kallis v. Commercial Union Ins. [Representation of wholesale marine broker sued for professional negligence arising from sinking of yacht in Santa Barbara Channel and prosecution to judgment against retail broker for negligence-San Francisco Superior Court-2001]

  • Van Vugt v. Saint Mary's College [Pre-trial dismissal of all claims against college sued for alleged sexual orientation discrimination arising from denial of tenure-Contra Costa County Superior Court-1999]

  • Insurance Corp. of Ireland v. Unifax Insurance Services [Prosecution for reinsurer of MGA in recovery of excessive claims administration expenses under reinsurance treaty-Los Angeles Superior Court-1991]

  • Emery Mining Co. v. Federal Insurance Company [Representation of Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's in coverage dispute arising from mine fire resulting in judgment for Underwriters on cross-motions for summary judgment-USDC, Utah-Utah 1988]

  • Mission National Insurance Company v. Coachella Valley Water District [Successful appeal following three week jury trial arising from coverage dispute under builder's risk policy for cracking of concrete flood channel-Riverside County Superior Court-1987]
