Lombardi, Loper & Conant handles a wide variety of insurance coverage matters, and has a recognized expertise in insurance coverage litigation and dispute resolution.  The firm’s attorneys have been involved in many areas of California’s  insurance coverage law as it has rapidly evolved over the past 35 years.

The firm has an active practice providing advice to its clients about coverage and other insurance-related questions, resolving informal coverage disputes, and litigating coverage and extra-contractual (bad faith) lawsuits.  The insurance practice addresses a wide range of both first-party and third-party coverage matters, including:

• Commercial general liability coverage disputes
• Business coverage disputes
• Automobile liability insurance disputes
• Employers’ liability insurance claims
• Homeowners’ and other commercial first-party insurance disputes, and
• Intra-insurer contribution litigation
• Litigation arising from disputed company and agency agreements and from managing general agency agreements

The firm's senior partner, Ralph Lombardi, wrote the annual supplement to the California Continuing Education of the Bar California Automobile Insurance Law Guide from 1988 through 2004.  In 2005, Mr. Lombardi authored the second edition and he continues to write annual supplements to the work.

Clients rely upon Lombardi, Loper & Conant to provide thoughtful and practical  consulting and coverage analysis.  The firm’s clients also rely on the attorneys’ many years of experience in litigating coverage disputes and related bad faith claims at both the trial and appellate levels.  LLC attorneys have been involved in numerous significant appellate insurance coverage cases before the California Supreme Court and before intermediate appellate courts throughout the state.

Most of the firm’s work is done for insurers; however, over the years the attorneys in this practice group have represented numerous policyholders, especially California and Nevada public entities, in first-party and third-party coverage litigation.
