Many of the practice groups within the firm also are called upon by clients to defend a wide array of tort & business claims.  Customarily, the firm works directly with the client’s general counsel or a lawyer within the general counsel’s office.  Representation in such circumstances includes:

Premises Liability

The firm regularly represents various commercial businesses – such as food and drug stores – which request the services of the firm in defending many types of lawsuits.  This litigation includes personal injury claims arising out of alleged negligent security, false imprisonment, food poisoning, and claims based upon dangerous condition and / or inadequate maintenance of property.

Transportation

The firm is called upon to defend moderate to complex personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from rail & highway accidents.  The firm’s clients include Amtrak, national car rental agencies and other companies providing rail, charter vehicle, school bus, and fixed route transit services.

Credit Unions

The firm regularly represents numerous credit unions throughout Northern California against a variety of claims, including personal injury and business claims, Song-Beverly Act claims and employment matters.
