Mr. Castillo is a litigation partner specializing in the defense of general liability, product liability, whistleblower, and employment-related claims.

A significant portion of Mr. Castillo’s practice involves representation of clients in the transportation field, and manufacturers and designers of industrial products. Specifically, Mr. Castillo’s practice includes the representation of clients involved in the railroad and busing industries, including investigation and litigation of catastrophic accidents resulting in serious personal injury and death, and representation of those clients in investigations conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board and local law enforcement agencies. He also handles employment-related claims for these clients, including claims arising under the Federal Railroad Safety Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and various federal laws relating to alleged whistleblowing, retaliation, harassment, and discrimination.

In addition to his transportation practice, Mr. Castillo also is involved in construction-related litigation, including the representation of developers, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, suppliers, and homeowners in connection with construction defect claims in residential and commercial construction. Additionally, Mr. Castillo handles personal injury claims arising from construction site and industrial related accidents.

He has tried numerous cases to verdict in federal and state courts in California and Nevada, including numerous cases involving injuries to vehicle occupants in railroad grade crossing accidents.

Mr. Castillo is a frequent speaker on trial practice and substantive law issues at public conferences and national meetings of firm clients. Mr. Castillo also is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.
