Partners Matt Conant and Leora Ragones successfully defended a Sacramento RV dealer in a case arising from a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Fairfield, California. Plaintiffs, who were the driver and passengers of a vehicle involved in the accident, argued that the RV dealer negligently attached a trailer to a pick-up truck without taking into consideration the weights and “towing capacity” for the truck-trailer combination. Plaintiffs asserted claims for past and future medical expenses in excess of $10 million.

The firm prevailed in a motion for summary judgment, based upon expert testimony that the weight and towing capacity of the truck and trailer were not a substantial factor in causing the accident.
